Half Moon Bay

When Eddie Gray walked in to the American Legion Half Moon Bay that day he walked right up to member Montana Bill Hulsford and said " haven't seen a hat like that in some time"... Bill said "well where ya from pard?" That's when they found out they grew up just 40 miles from each other in Montana and later learned Bill had rodeoed with Eddie's uncle...small world...Bill's the fella with the big hat...when we found out it was to be Eddie's birthday we pulled out all the stops and put together a dandy native feast for our new brother...Buffalo stew, fry bread, wild swamp rice from Minnesota,and local grown veges...made the lad a bit homesick...seemed to like it all right ...however he confided in me that his auntie makes the best fry bread in the world...but it was ok...ate about six plates...first class birthday...he met our house cat mascot Eddie made numerous new friends from Korea to Iraq...all pictured here...after some needed respite we booted him on the butt and sent him down the trail...haven't heard much in a bit but last words were from Monterey a hundred miles to the south of us...We are proud to have met and pleased to be included in his walk about...Post 474 Half Moon Bay
